Welcome to the Assembly Committee on Ways and Means!

            This is an exciting time for our state! Our unemployment rate is at an historic low, our budgets are balanced, our schools are thriving and debt is as low as it has been in years, but our tax code is unfair, unbalanced and burdensome.

        The Assembly Committee on Ways and Means has been restructured with the intent of modernizing Wisconsin's tax code. Throughout this process we must ask ourselves, “what would our tax code look like if we created it on purpose?"

            The Assembly Ways and Means Committee will examine each part of our state's tax code and present a plan to the legislature that will make our tax code fair, low and simple and continue to move Wisconsin forward. Wisconsin has always taken pride in being proactive, and now is the time to develop a revenue neutral tax code that will unshackle Wisconsinites potential.

 Sincerely;

Chairman John Macco

88th Assembly District
